A quick audio support for ADHD parents on the hardest days.
🎧 Take 2 minutes. Press play below — this reset is for YOU:
Hey there.
If you hit play on this, I’m guessing it’s been… a day. Or a moment.
Maybe one of those mornings.
Maybe after-school just exploded.
First — just pause with me for a second.
Take a deep breath in… and out.
Let your shoulders drop.
You’re here.
And that matters.
I want to tell you something — because I know how it feels.
Parenting a kid with ADHD can be… a lot.
Some days it feels like you’re spinning plates.
Trying to remember All The Things.
While also being the calm voice… the planner… the therapist… the advocate… the cook…
And oh yeah — a human being yourself.
It’s no wonder you feel stretched thin.
It’s no wonder patience runs out sometimes.
But hear me — that doesn’t make you a bad parent.
It makes you a human parent, raising a kid with a brain that’s wired differently.
Okay — let’s reset just a little together.
First — one thing that did go okay today.
It doesn’t have to be big.
Maybe you got everyone out the door.
Maybe you remembered meds.
Maybe you noticed when your kid needed a break.
That counts. Celebrate it.
Next — remember: ADHD isn’t defiance.
It’s not “won’t.”
It’s “can’t right now.”
When the brain is overloaded — transitions are hard.
Focus is hard.
Emotional regulation is hard.
It’s not about you.
And finally — breathe again.
Right now — in… and out.
Your nervous system sets the tone.
Calming yourself first helps your child calm down too.
Here’s what I want you to know before you hit stop:
You are the exact parent your child needs.
Hard moments do not define your parenting.
Progress is built in the showing up — not in perfection.
You’ve got this.
You really do.
And if no one’s told you today — you’re doing better than you think.
From all of us at Carolina ADHD Coaching — sending a little love your way today. 💛
Parenting a child with ADHD can bring so many bright moments — creativity, humor, and resilience.
But let’s be honest: some days? It’s hard.
Mornings melt down. After school feels chaotic. You wonder if you’re handling it right. You question your patience. You feel the burnout creeping in.
